Parkland Expos win Provincial AA Gold

Parkland Expos were victorious over the Regina Pacers 9-4 on Sunday.


Regina Pacers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Talon Lazaruk doubled, and William Cornish singled, each scoring one run.

Bryker Smith singled, which helped Parkland Expos tie the game at two in the bottom of the first.

Parkland Expos took the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Vinay Junek doubled, Regina Pacers committed an error, and Parkland Expos scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.

Parkland Expos added one run in the third after Junek walked.


Ty Ulmer earned the win for Parkland Expos. Ulmer gave up 12 hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking none. Brody Aston took the loss for Regina Pacers. The reliever went one-third of an inning, giving up zero runs on zero hits, striking out one and walking none. Wyatt Guest started the game for Regina Pacers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered five hits and six runs (four earned) over three innings, striking out six and walking six.


Parkland Expos amassed 10 hits in the game. Ty Sleeva, Junek, and Smith each collected two hits for Parkland Expos. Junek went 2-for-2 at the plate as the outfielder led the team with three runs batted in. Parkland Expos had a strong eye at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Chaz Jaeb, Junek, and Smith led the team with two walks each. Smith stole two bases. Parkland Expos turned one double play in the game. Parkland Expos were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Jeff Stewart had the most chances in the field with seven.


Regina Pacers piled up 12 hits in the game. Aston and Cornish were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Regina Pacers. Lazaruk, Aston, Jack Casper, and Cornish each drove in one run for Regina Pacers.


Parkland now advances to the Western Canadians being held in Kelowna, B.C. August 18-20th
