Evan Ottenbreit drove in four runs on four hits to lead Saskatoon A’s past Regina White Sox 22-13 on Sunday's gold medal matchup.
Ottenbreit doubled in the fifth scoring two, singled in the second scoring one, and singled in the seventh scoring one.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as Saskatoon A’s collected 24 hits and Regina White Sox 13 in the high-scoring affair.
Regina White Sox got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Justin Shanner singled, Logan Weatherald walked, and Regina White Sox scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.
Saskatoon A’s flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring six runs on seven hits to take a 6-3 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a walk by Hudson Mantyka that drove in one.
Regina White Sox flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on four hits to take a 10-6 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Dominic Waschuk on a full count that drove in two.
Saskatoon A’s tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to a double by Grayson Hofstra, a double by Ottenbreit, and a single by Kaden Dimen.
An error gave Regina White Sox the lead, 12-11, in the bottom of the fifth.

Jayce Wintonyk-Pilot pitched four and one-third innings in relief for Saskatoon A’s. The reliever gave up five hits and three runs while, striking out two and walking three. Gavin Vicente opened the game for Saskatoon A’s. They surrendered three hits and five runs over one and one-third innings, striking out none and walking three. Easton Hembroff stepped on the hill first for Regina White Sox. The southpaw allowed five hits and five runs over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking one.
Saskatoon A’s piled up 24 hits in the game. Dimen drove the middle of the lineup, leading Saskatoon A’s with five runs batted in. The third baseman went 3-for-4 on the day. Ryken Kozak, Vicente, Robert Molyneux, Wintonyk-Pilot (AP), and Grant Liebrecht each collected multiple hits for Saskatoon A’s. Dimen led Saskatoon A’s with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Vicente stole two bases.
Regina White Sox tallied 13 hits in the game. Burke Stadnyk, Shanner, Jack Albert, and Noah Howarth each collected two hits for Regina White Sox. Waschuk and Howarth were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Regina White Sox. Regina White Sox had patience at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game.
